Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

Manuscripts submitted to the International Journal of Multidisciplinary Science and Innovation (IJMSI) should meet essential standards of clarity and readability to ensure a seamless review process. Manuscripts not adhering to these requirements may be returned to the authors for revision.

Article Types & Format

Original/Research Articles

These articles present original research, providing detailed insights into methods, methodologies, and results supported by evidence.

Sections typically include:

Introduction: Defines the research objective and rationale.

Methods: Describes the applied methods, study design, and participant details.

Results: Summarizes key research findings.

Conclusions: Highlights the implications for practice, policy, or further research.

Review Articles

Comprehensive reviews of existing literature discussing major developments, advancements, and emerging trends across multidisciplinary scientific fields.

Case Reports

Reports on clinical conditions, diagnosis, and treatment strategies, often highlighting novel cases and providing relevant literature reviews.

Editorials

Short articles that offer insights on key topics or recent advancements within multidisciplinary science, written by editors or invited contributors.

Commentaries

Articles that discuss research challenges, solutions, or perspectives in specific fields, such as integrative science and innovation.

Corrigendum

Corrections to previously published articles due to errors made by the authors.

Expert Opinion

Articles from subject matter experts offering perspectives on the future of research, advancements, or practical applications in multidisciplinary science.

Letters to the Editor

Letters providing feedback, suggestions, or clarifications on previously published articles.

Perspective Articles

Authors’ personal viewpoints on current issues, trends, or innovations within the scope of the journal.

Manuscript Structure

Cover Letter, Title Page, Abstract and Keywords, Manuscript Text, Figures and Tables, Acknowledgments, References.

Cover Letter

The cover letter should be addressed to the Editor-in-Chief and must include:

  • The article title.
  • Reasons for choosing IJMSI for publication.
  • A statement confirming submission agreement (e.g., not under review elsewhere).
  • Details of any related conference presentation (if applicable).
  • Article type and its relevance to the journal’s scope.

Title Page

The title page should include:

  • Full article title (maximum 130 characters).
  • Running title (maximum 75 characters).
  • Names and institutional affiliations of all authors.
  • Corresponding author’s contact information.
  • Clinical trial registry or funding details (if applicable).
  • Manuscript word count.

Abstract and Keywords

A concise abstract (maximum 300 words) summarizing:

  • Research objectives and rationale.
  • Key findings and conclusions.
  • 3-5 keywords listed alphabetically.

Abbreviations

Use standard abbreviations, defining non-standard ones upon first use in the abstract and body text. Avoid abbreviations in the title. Definitions for abbreviations used in tables/figures should be placed in the respective figure legends.

Manuscript Text

Manuscripts should be organized according to article type and study requirements. References should be cited in superscript numbers, placed at the end of the relevant statements.

Figures and Tables

  • Figures and tables should be numbered sequentially in the order of citation within the text.
  • Tables should appear after the references section.
  • Figures must be submitted as separate high-resolution files (.jpg or .png format).
  • Figure legends should provide clear explanations for each part of the figure, with reference numbers.

Conflicts of Interest

Authors should include a statement disclosing any potential conflicts of interest to ensure transparency and avoid post-publication issues.

Acknowledgments

Acknowledgments should mention individuals or groups who contributed to the research but did not meet authorship criteria. This section should also include details of medical writing assistance, funding sources, and conference details (if applicable). Written consent is required for those included in the acknowledgment.

References

  • References should be accurate and comprehensive.
  • They must be listed on a separate page, double-spaced, and numbered consecutively.
  • In-text references, tables, and figure legends should indicate citations with Arabic numerals in parentheses.
  • Journal names should be abbreviated according to Index Medicus/Medline.
  • Unpublished studies should be marked as "in press" with the status noted.

Tables

Tables should be created using Word Table tools, avoiding repetition of data already presented in the text. Tables must be numbered sequentially and follow the order of citations in the main reference list.

Figure Legends

Figure legends should be provided at the end of the manuscript, explaining each figure clearly and referencing the figure citation order in the main text.

Figures and Illustrations

  • Figures should be numbered in the order of their citation in the text.
  • High-resolution images in .jpg or .png format should be submitted separately.
  • Clinical photographs must have patient identification masked or include signed consent for publication.

Supplementary Materials

Any supplementary material or online content should be provided as applicable.

Submission Process

  • Authors should ensure their manuscript aligns with the scope of IJMSI. Submitting an abstract prior to the full manuscript submission can expedite the review process.
  • Manuscripts can be submitted via the online submission system or via email in .docx or .pdf format.
  • Submissions should include:
  • Cover letter.
  • Full manuscript.
  • Figures and tables (as separate files).
  • Supplementary materials, if applicable.
  • Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively to IJMSI and must not be under consideration by any other journal.
  • Authors may suggest potential external reviewers during the submission process.
  • All manuscripts undergo an initial quality check for duplicate submissions or plagiarism. Once passed, the manuscript will be sent for peer review, which typically takes 4-6 weeks.

By adhering to these author guidelines, authors ensure a smooth and efficient submission process and increase their chances of having their work published in the International Journal of Multidisciplinary Science and Innovation (IJMSI).
